Graphical Networks Integrates Intel Data Center Manager
ROCKVILLE, MD: Graphical Networks, a Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) and Network Documentation software provider, has embedded Intel DCM Energy Director into its comprehensive DCIM solution.
Graphical Networks’ new version of netTerrain, soon to be announced, now, includes a new DCIM Environmental Monitoring module powered by Intel DCM Energy Director, offering real-time monitoring of power, temperature and other server, UPS and PDU metrics.
A very large percentage of a data center utility bill goes to cooling servers and other devices. netTerrain’s real-time environmental monitoring solution helps reduce some of the costs associated with these bills. Jeff Klaus, General Manager, Data Center Solutions, Intel, adds, “The Intel Data Center Manager combined with netTerrain DCIM, will provide a unique visual approach to DCIM along with analytics and reporting capabilities for data center managers.”
With netTerrain DCIM using Intel’s DCM solution, data center managers can now get comprehensive views into energy usage and thermal data at the device, rack, room and overall data center level. It will also enhance capacity planning, forecasting, performance monitoring, and energy management functions for significant operational savings. netTerrain DCIM’s extensive visualization platform combined with information from Intel DCM will give data center personnel an unprecedented view and control over both physical and virtual assets within the data center.
Some of the new features included with this integration:
- Real-time monitoring of actual power and inlet temperature data at device rack, row, room and overall data center level
- Alerting based on custom power and thermal events
- Logging of power and thermal data
- Up to one year of time-series, trending and history data for capacity planning
- Scheduling of policies including power capping, by time of day and/or day of week
